Some examples of waste oils are: used engine oil, used transmission oil, used hydraulic oil, used gear oil, used cooking oil and grease, animal tallow – fat, glycerin from biodiesel etc… Some examples of virgin oils are: fuel oil #1, #2, #4 and #6, biodiesel, and vegetable oil from oil presses such as soy, canola, sunflower and camelina. These oils are thicker, and must be pre-heated before burning. All other multi-oil burners pre-heat the fuel with electric heaters. KingBuilt.com’s HPC-1 combustion system preheats the oil with hot water, produced by the oil fire itself.
