Renewable Products - Diesel
AMENICO offers a wide selection of products and services, most obvious being the sale of biomass based renewable diesel. Having achieved Clean Air Act registration with the United States Environmental Protection Agency, our renewable diesel is blended at a 5% ratio with over-the-road diesel fuel and all other “diesel” applications. Our renewable diesel is also blended with home heating oil to yield a B-5 blend that is then used in all oil heat applications.
Production and Quality: our proprietary process converts yellow grease feedstock to a non methyl ester biomass-based renewable diesel. Our original intent was to be recognized as having the highest quality “branded” renewable diesel fuel in the industry. Seeing our blends have been field tested through the coldest of New England winters and has replaced other competitive biofuels, we believe we’ve achieved this goal.
Improving our Environment: AMENICO’s refined biofuel produced from 100% recycled feedstock is a carbon neutral fuel. Every gallon used to replace fossil fuels helps reduce carbon emissions and the harmful effects of climate change. As part of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Program, a life cycle analysis of biofuels made from recycled feedstock found these biofuels yielded a minimum of 80% fewer greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) when compared to emissions from a 2005 standard fossil derived gallon of diesel. Product Testing and Benefits: AMENICO’s A-5 renewable diesel blend meets over-the-road ASTM D-975 petroleum diesel testing requirements. Many who have switched to biodiesel complain of non-performance through winter use. Our product has performed (and performed brilliantly) through the harshest of New England winters. Currently our product is available at fleet fueling stations across New Hampshire and is the biofuel blend of choice for other independent fleet fuelers. Other attributes of our renewable diesel are:
- AMENICO-5 ASTM Certified: diesel fuel treated with our USEPA registered non-methyl ester biomass based renewable diesel is American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D-975 compliant.
- Increased Lubricity: studies have shown that ultra low sulfur diesel fuel has reduced lubricity due to the now USEPA mandated phase out of higher levels of sulfur. The resulting ultra low sulfur diesel has proven to shorten the life of older engines. Additional studies have shown that the addition of USEPA registered vegetable based non methyl ester renewable diesels restore lubricity to pre-ULSD levels.
