Faced with rising heating oil costs, the owner of a Concord restaurant found a creative way to heat his business in his own kitchen.

The Red Blazer is taking the byproduct from its deep fryers and using it as fuel to warm the restaurant's water heater. Co-owner Sarandis Karathanasis said he's saving $8,000 a year on heating costs.
